What do Max Verstappen and Designair have in common? We're both really good at what we do—but had to wait for the paperwork to prove it.

Secure Remote CAD: Why Designair Is Getting ISO 27001 Certified (Solving the Max Verstappen Problem)

Max Verstappen raced an entire Formula 1 season before he was legally allowed to drive a car unsupervised on Dutch roads. In 2015, at just 17 years old, he became the youngest driver in Formula One history at the Australian Grand Prix. He scored points, set records, and outpaced seasoned veterans—all while still too young for a Dutch driver's license. It was on his 18th birthday that Verstappen finally passed his driving test, after just five hours with an instructor. By then, he'd already been competing at 300+ km/h for a full year.

We know this feeling.

Our security practices are typically an order of magnitude better than our customer's traditional workstation setups — with Designair, they get what we call "the free security upgrade." But without ISO 27001 certification, we don't have the permit to prove it. And that means your IT teams have to grill us with lengthy security questionnaires. It takes time—theirs and ours.

So we're taking our driver's exam.

What This Means for You

Right now, when your IT team evaluates Designair, they send us a security questionnaire. 118 questions. We answer every one, carefully, and compile the results into a 30-page report. Your security team reviews it, flags follow-ups, and we go another round. It takes weeks—sometimes months.

We also know that many of you are still sceptical about cloud security—and rightly so. "Is cloud CAD really secure?" It's a fair question in an industry where IP is everything.

With ISO 27001 certification, an independent auditor answers that question for you. They verify our security against a globally recognized standard—so your team doesn't have to. Check the cert, move on.

We can't get it done in 5 hours, but we expect to be certified in Q2 2026. Once we are, we'll just show you the permit.
